Die STI GmbH beschäftigt derzeit an den Standorten Wiesbaden, Mönchengladbach und Weeze/Laarbruch ca. 100 Mitarbeiter. Sie führt die Fluggastkontrollen am Düsseldorf Express Airport Mönchengladbach und am Flughafen Niederrhein Weeze/Laarbruch durch.

Seit dem 1. April 1996 führt die STI im Auftrag der zuständigen Luftfahrtbehörde die Fluggastkontrollen durch. Die Qualität der Fluggastkontrollen wird regelmäßig durch so genannte Realtests von der zuständigen Luftfahrtbehörde überprüft.
