The History of STI

STI GeschichteOctober 1995
Founding of the company SLI Sicherheit für Luftfahrt und Industrie GmbH, the forerunner of STI GmbH.

April 1996
SLI performs passenger-screening services at the Düsseldorf Express Airport Mönchengladbach under contract from the Düsseldorf District Government. After the major fire at Düsseldorf Airport on 11 April 1996, assisting the police with passenger screening services at Düsseldorf International Airport until 31 December 1997.

Since the beginning of 1996
Training of all passenger-screening personnel at Münster/Osnabrück, Paderborn/Lippstadt, Dortmund and Siegerland airports for initial and recurrent training.

Since 1999
Training passenger-screening personnel at further German and international airports. Regular training of screener personnel for x-ray inspection equipment for government authorities and private businesses.

"Train the Trainer" programs (Instructor Training).

2001/2002
Training personnel for the local aviation authority of the District Government in Münster, Germany for Münster/Osnabrück, Paderborn/Lippstadt and Dortmund airports.

April 2001
Acquisition of the computer based training system OTS? (Operator Training System) from Smiths Heimann by STI GmbH.

We are providing training on behalf of Smiths Heimann GmbH for EDS/EDtS equipment (EDS/EDtS and HDX; multi-level checked baggage inspection equipment) and x-ray inspection equipment deployed in all sizes and applications.

Relocation of the main offices to Wiesbaden, Germany.

December 2002
Incorporation of a quality-management system. Certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 by the TÜV (Certificate).

May 2003
Conducting passenger screening services at Airport Niederrhein (Weeze) under contract from the Düsseldorf District Government.
