Ulrich Dünnes, main shareholder and CEO of STI Security Training International GmbH in Flörsheim/Main has announced to step into the second row as after 25 years on his 65th birthday, which was on October 25th, 2020. On this day, he had handed over his responsibilities to his successor Axel Stefan officially.

Ulrich started his professional carrier in October 1972 with the Hessian State Police and changed to the Hessian Ministry of Economics and Traffic in1988 to work as an Aviation Security Officer on Frankfurt International Airport. In 1991, he was called to the Hamburg branch of the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (German CAA), where he worked for five more years as the Branch Manager Aviation Security.

25 years ago, in October 1995, Ulrich left the Government Service and founded the STI GmbH, which firstly focused on Aviation Security Services in the Duesseldorf area. Taking over the „OTS“ Department from the former Heimann Systems GmbH in April 2001 STI set its main focus as per today in Aviation Security Training and henceforth managed by Mr. Dünnes together with Mr. Glassner as the second managing director. Since that time, Smiths Heimann GmbH - today Smiths Detection Germany GmbH - is shareholder in STI and partner for Ulrich and his team in a successful cooperation, especially in the field of computer-based training systems for the operations of X-Ray systems worldwide.

Axel Stefan is working for STI as managing director for more than 3 years and thus well prepared to lead STI with its actual 220 employees into a successful future. Ulrich will remain in the company as majority shareholder and manager. He will donate his long experience as an internal and external consultant and Aviation Security Validator.

We wish Ulrich all the best in his new phase of life and, above all, good health so that he can enjoy the fruits of his labor for a long time to come.
